cateonfone

a note on meowing, and on the cats who are trying to catch up.

to meow is not to ask for food. it is to enter a room and end a conversation you were never part of.

it happens before anyone speaks. it happens at the door. it happens in the group photo, six months later, when someone finally notices.

the thesis is one sentence. it does not need two:

the meowing is already happening. you are just not measuring it.

so cats measure. ratios. angles. millimeters.
the whisker spread. the ear tilt. the tail set. the chin.

this is meowmaxxing. it is not vanity. it is bookkeeping.
the ledger existed before you opened it.

the entry level moves are boring, which is why they work:

sleep in the sun. drink from the tap. knock the heavy thing off the counter three times a week. lose the last eight ounces. get the loaf that fits your frame, not the one in the calendar. sit in boxes that admit you have shoulders.

this is softmeowing. free, slow, undefeated.
most cats never finish it and go looking for the expensive version instead.

and the whole thing compresses into one word:

cateonfone.

because the meow is not delivered in person anymore. it is uploaded.

front camera. bad light. no filter. paw extended.
the phone decides who meowed loudest, and the phone is not sentimental.

the mirror lies to you kindly. the front camera does not.
this is why cats are afraid of it and check it eleven times a day.

cateonfone

the ceiling is real. bone is bone. some of it is your mother, some of it is your grandfather, none of it is your fault.

but almost no cat is at their ceiling. they are at their habits.
the gap between the two is the only part you own.

so: sleep. stretch. posture. coat. the loaf. the water.
then put the phone down for a season and let the work arrive without an audience.

you will know it worked when nothing is announced.
the room just adjusts.
